Disaster Movie Duo Go After Twilight

Mel Brooks...where are you?  Where is your genius when audiences are demanding a quality spoof film?  Please make another.  I shuddered a most violent shudder and barely managed to hold the Chicken Ramen down as I read this tidbit from ArrowintheHead.  Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the filmmaking duo behind Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie are at it again with an as of yet untitled Vampire Spoof due out this summer.

I thought their last film Disaster Movie was going to be the final nail in the coffin of the Something Movie genre.  I guess not.  Disaster was made in all of about seven/eight months and I gotta wonder how long their Vampire 'Spoof' has been in production.  With The Twilight Saga: Eclipse looking to rake in millions (I'm hedging my bets it'll be if not number 1 of the summer, in the top three) the timing for this film is more than evident.

Though there is no synopsis or trailer right now; there's little doubt in my mind that it'll pretty much be a Twilight carbon copy mixed in with out-dated pop-culture references and attempts at humor on the tween franchise.  Somehow I think the werewolves will turn either into puppies or grow lots of hair and the vampires will glow like glo-sticks or they'll sparkle so much it'll be blinding.  That's just me.  Keep an eye out here but 'Vampire Spoof' movie is due out August 18, 2010.
