Red Riding Hood Coming Sooner to Theaters

Warner Bros has announced that Catherine Hardwicke's Red Riding Hood will be hitting theaters on March 11, 2011. As you can guess by the title of the film Red Riding Hood is going to be a gothic retelling of the tale. Amanda Seyfried will star along with Lukas Haas, Shiloh Fernandez, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman.

David Leslie Johnson ("Orphan") wrote the script, which is set against the backdrop of a village unsettled by the presence of a werewolf where a young girl is engaged to be married but falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure. With Hardwicke directing I won't be surprised if this comes out looking more like Twilight than an actual piece of gothic horror.
