Del Toro Directing Disney's Haunted Mansion

The first time around it seems Disney was not that pleased with Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion film because they have announced at Comic Con that they will be doing another film.. Or a reboot/remake if you will. Only this time I think it will be guaranteed to kick ass with Guillermo del Toro developing and directing the film.

No need to worry guys this will not be a comedy says del Toro, "Disney himself was the father of some really chilling moments and characters -- think Chernabog from 'Fantasia,' or Maleficent as the Dragon, or the Evil Queen in 'Snow White,'" he said. "We will make the 'Haunted Mansion' the most haunted place on Earth. We are not making it a comedy. We will make it scary and fun at the same time. For me, the 'Mansion' needs to be the haunted house movie for this generation."

Del Toro also made it be known that the film will be based on the Hat Box ghost (pictured) which was featured on the Disney ride when it first opened but was later removed. In classic del Toro humor he also added, "We are not returning Eddie Murphy's calls."
