First Photo Planet of the Apes Prequel, Rise of the Apes

JustJared has posted the first photo from the set of Rise of the Apes the new prequel story for Planet of the Apes which is being directed by Rupert Wyatt. Rise of the apes stars John Lithgow James Franco and Freida Pinto.

John Lithgow will play James Francos father who is stricken with Alzheimers which is the basis for the entire chimp uprising. In the film James Franco plays a young scientist looking for a cure who inadvertently turns his apes into super intelligent revolutionary apes. Freida Pinto who starred in Slumdog Millionaire is the female lead playing a primatologist. Don Cheadle it is rumored is in talks for a role but nothing confirmed yet.
