According to the L.A. Times, Dimension Films and The Weinstein Co. have been in talks with writer Fernley Phillips who wrote the script for The Number 23, to write a script for a remake of John Landis classic An American Werewolf In London (1981)

The L.A. Times reports that they plan to put a "Modern" take on the original. (To read more on, head on over to the L.A. Times)

Why the need for a remake is beyond me, and what is the deal with putting a "Modern" take on the film, does that mean taking everything out that made the original so great.
It would be nice now and again to hear a studio asking someone to write an original script for an original movie but i guess that's asking too much.

I never have high hopes for a remake as they often take something you love put it through a blender, take out all the goodness and we are left with a pile of nothingness.
