The remake of An American Werewolf in London has got a screenwriter . Joel Schumacher's The Number 23 (2007) screenwriter Fernley Phillips apparently has been chosen

An American Werewolf In London is a  tale of two American backpackers who are attacked by a werewolf in England. The survivor of the attack is hospitalized in London and soon realizes he is cursed by the full moon .

John Landis original cult classic set the bar for horror comedy . I feel this movie does not need to be remade .  Yet this comes as no surprise ,seeing as how Hollywood is on fire for films about vampires and werewolves. But couldn't they have remade Wolfen or The Howling instead ?

Being no fan of the film The Number 23 so I am doubtful of this remake and will have to see the trailer looks like
