Jonah Hex DVD Specs and Art

Jonah Hex was quite a disappointment for me, the film had an interesting idea behind it but it failed totally in execution.  I admit was with the movie for the first fifteen minutes or so, the Gatling gun equipped horse (though absurd) was pretty cool and the train heist was fun.  But after that the movie fell like a ton of bricks.

With very little advertising and mostly negative reviews, Hex also became probably the third largest bust of the summer (behind Knight and Day and Cats and Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore) taking in only $10.5million opposite a $47million budget.  But for those who missed it in theaters and were still curious; DVDActive has a look at the Blu-Ray and DVD.

  • Deleted Scenes
  • The Inside Story of Jonah Hex (Blu-Ray Only)
  • The Weird Western Tales of Jonah Hex (Blu-Ray Only)
  • Digital Copy of the Film (Blu-Ray Only)

Bare bones on both, at least by how I view supplemental features.  I was hoping that Warner Brothers would release some extended cut of the film (as it was rather obvious while watching the movie that there were quite a few sequences removed from the movie) to try and get some extra interest and more sales.  The DVD will retail for $28.98 and the Blu-Ray for $35.99 and will be available on October 12.
