Malcolm McDowell to Join 'VAMPS' Cast

The Horror comedy Vamps written & directed by Amy Heckerling now has Malcolm McDowell join the already impressive cast, which consists of , Sigourney Weaver, Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter, Richard Lewis, Kristen Johnson, Wallace Shawn, Justin Kirk, Dan Stevens, Todd Barry, Marilu Henner and Zak Orth. Impressive eh?

Malcolm McDowell will play Vlad the Impaler which sounds awesome, I've been a die hard fan of Malcolm's work for years, even his portrayal as 'Loomis' in the 'Halloween' remake, I didn't like how the character turned out, but McDowell's performance as always was stellar!

Is it just me or is Malcolm McDowell starring in quite a few big budget films now? I'm not complaining I'm just hoping he gets the recognition he deserves.

Vamps is currently shooting in Detroit and is set for a 2011 release.

Synopsis: "Vamps tells the modern day tale of two young beautiful female (Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter) vampires living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality. Weaver plays the role of Ciccerus, a bloodthirsty "stem" vampire who has created a dynasty."
