Neil Marshall Heads Underground for Extreme Cuisine

With Neil Marshall's Centurion opening in US theatres yesterday, maybe some of you where wondering, well what is next for Neil Marshall?

Well wonder no more as according to Deadline Neil Marshall is set to direct Underground which is a horror thriller scripted by David Cohen. Not much information is known on the project yet, but the film is said to be set in the world of gourmet underground supper clubs.

Underground supper clubs? That's what I was asking myself, so I did some research and apparently an underground supper club is by ordinary people who cook and sell home cooked food, these clubs can occur anywhere, it might be in their private home, barn house, city loft or even outside and surprisingly they are becoming more popular as customers are choosing these over legitimate restaurants, there is a place in London called The Secret Ingredient who deals in Japanese cuisine and charges just £15-£20 for six courses!

Being a horror fan, going to a place called The Secret Ingredient I'd be quite concerned as to what that ingredient is, but c'mon, people don't kill and cook people for money... do they?

Anyway back to the movie, being that it has Neil Marshall involved and we are heading underground for some home cooked cuisine I can only assume that cannibalism will be on the menu.

Deadline spoke to the producers Taka Ichise and Erin Eggers of Ozla Pictures for more clarity on the film and they said, "the protagonist is an ambitious young chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine."

This kind of reminds me of many Asian horror films I have seen (There Is a Secret In My Soup, Human Pork Chop & Meatgrinder) where street vendors cook and sell soup, only the soup contains YOU! Either way I'm intrigued to see how this one unfolds itself and we will report to you more information as it comes available.
