Michael Berryman Receives Horror Award


Horror icon Michael Berryman was honored this past Friday night August 27, 2010 at the Horrific Film Fest in San Antonio. Michael received a chainsaw shaped trophy with "For his hard work in the industry of horror" engraved on the trophy base.'Absinth' the 2010 Gothic Queen presented the award to Berryman.

Berryman more commonly known for his role as 'Pluto' in Wes Cravens 'The Hills Have Eyes' (1977) and also 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' (1975) and 'The Devil's Rejects' (2005).

Berryman star's in the upcoming movie 'Below Zero' which is currently in post-production, he stars alongside Edward Furlong 'Terminator II' & 'American History X' in which Berryman plays the role of a butcher, named 'Gunnar'.

Below Zero synopsis: "BELOW ZERO is a thriller about Jack the Hack - a screenwriter who locks himself in a slaughterhouse freezer in order to meet a looming deadline. Left with nothing but his own demons to distract him, Jack writes the story of Frank, a tow truck driver who finds himself accidentally locked in a meat cooler with the barely alive victim of a serial killer."

The Examiner spoke with Berryman regarding 'Below Zero' and this is what he said:

"I received a call from my manager earlier today," Berryman smiled. "He told me they are saying I gave a ‘stunning’ and ‘dramatic’ performance. I made people cry; and people that were there, on the set, and who have seen the scene tell me it is my best acting yet," beamed Berryman. "Even the cameramen were in tears. It was very a solemn moment."

He is one of the hardest working actors today and I can't praise him enough, well done Michael!
