Ghostbusters 3 Oscar the New Ghostbuster?

I'm a sucker for anything Ghostbuster related, my youth was filled with Ghostbuster's galore and when I first heard news a while back about Ghostbusters 3 and the original cast involved, I was freaking ecstatic!

Well Bloody-Disgusting has got word from an insider that Dana Barrett's (Sigourney Weaver) son Oscar is  Dr. Peter Venkman's (Bill Murray) child as well. In the film Oscar is said to be about 21 now and that he is now ready to take his father's ghost busting business.

I think this is cool, as they are continuing the story by introducing new characters but also keeping it relevant but this is information from an insider so nothing is concrete yet, but hopefully it turns out true.

In addition to this plot point, Rick Moranis will be coming out of retirement to star in the film. Rick retired from acting way back in 1996/97 although he occasionally did some voice over work. I can't wait to see Rick back on the screen and it will be interesting to see how all this plays out.

There is still no word on when the film is going into production, but apparently things are progressing nicely according to B-D.
