Tom Cruise To Star in HP LoveCraft Mountains of Madness?

Talk about an interesting casting choice! Collider is reporting that Tom Cruise is Guillermo Del Toro's choice to star in his upcoming adaptation of HP Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness. Reportedly this is not the studios choice who would prefer new top male lead James McAvoy to star.

Being completely fair Tom Cruise could definitely use to star in this film since it would redefine his career which has been filled with action hero cliches after starting off with such promise.

On the flip side it makes sense that the studio wants James McAvoy over Tom Cruise. He is an up and coming star who only really hit the radar with WANTED. Extremely talented he wont have the finanacial and production demands of a Tom Cruise.
