Paranormal Activity Set for a TV Series?

After the amazing success of Paranormal Activity and with the sequel due to be released on October, 22 we maybe seeing more Paranormal Activity across our small screens and invading our homes. The creator of the movie Oren Peli is teaming up with Dreamworks TV and ABC Studies to develop the series which is going to be called "The River".

THR said Dreamworks is "near a pilot deal" with ABC and NBC is said to have interest in the project as well if ABC do not produce a pilot a penalty will be incurred and other networks such as NBC might have the opportunity for the TV series.

Executive producers Steven Schneider and Jason Blum who worked on the first installment along with the screen writer for Paranormal Activity 2 Michael R. Perry are also involved in the TV series.

The TV series is said to focus on a couple which is being disturbed at night by an unknown being. Now I don't know about you but I think I have seen that somewhere before? Anyway The River will show footage from the video camera which captured all the unexplained activities, but is said to focus on a bigger scale, unlike the movie where it was mainly focused on the bedroom, the series is said to venture out to the Amazon River where people went missing. A famed adventurer is said to have went missing in the area and friends and crew went looking for him.

I am not sure how this would work out, so let's say the show is an hour or half hour once a week, they show some things happening to this couple, will any story be involved? What is the deal with the Amazon River, will a camera be left there to? Will this all be "found footage" or an actual team investigating? So many unanswered questions.

Now I absolutely loved Paranormal Activity I thought it was great I'm still not sure about the sequel as I think it should have been left as that, but as the sequel is is on it's way I'll still check it out anyway. A TV series just seems like a bad idea I just don't see how this will work and to be honest with you I hope this project does not see the light of day.  Let me know what you guys think?
