ALIEN Prequel: Gemma Arterton In Talks to Star
According to Digital Spy Gemma Arterton is in talks with Ridley Scott to star in the upcoming Alien prequel movies. She reportedly was asked to meet with Ridley Scott after he saw her work in The Dissapearance of Alice Creed. Gemma Arterton has had two huge films recently including Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia.
The upcoming Alien Prequels are going to be based about 20 years before the first ALIEN film which starred Sigourney Weaver and will focus on the origins of the Aliens.
Ridley Scott recently spoke to The Independent and told them:
"The film will be really tough, really nasty," he notes "It's the dark side of the moon. We are talking about gods and engineers. Engineers of space. And were the aliens designed as a form of biological warfare? Or biology that would go in and clean up a planet?"
Not sure how I feel about the need to explain the origins of the ALIENS but clearly if Gemma Arterton gets the role it will be another big leap frog for her career pushing her even further into the mainstream and opening up even more large roles for her.
