Auschwitz - Uwe Boll Sleeps on the Job
Yes the infamous director Uwe Boll (House of the Dead, Seed), which some critics have named the new "Ed Wood" after directing some royal stinkers in the past. Now I personally have stayed clear of any of his films so I cannot comment whether or not he really is that bad, although I watched the trailer for House of the Dead and I think those two minutes pretty much summed it up for me.
Uwe Boll best known for adapting video games into feature films has now made a film about one of the worst horrors in human history titled Auschwitz where over 1 million Jews were killed in German concentration camps between 1942 and 1944.
In the movie we have Uwe Boll playing a Nazi officer (which you can see in the trailer below) asleep while the Jews are being gassed to death in a very unpleasant scene.
Uwe Boll is tackling a very controversial subject here and if you like the guy or not, he isn't glorifying the Holocaust, because it wasn't nice it was freaking brutal and that is what we see in this film. It's just it seems in bad taste having the director play a Nazi officer, but maybe it's just me.
Maybe he will surprise us all with this movie, but looking back at his track record and statements he has made over the years it is hard to tell at this time. Anyway you can check out the trailer below, it is NSFW and I must warn you it is unpleasant but lets see what you make of it:
