Stephen Kings Dark Tower Movie Deal FINALLY Done!

How many times have we talked about the film adaptation of Stephen Kings Dark Tower over the years? More times then we can possibly list here. The last update we had on the project was from JJ Abrams who announced that he had the rights and was going to develop the film but that quickly came apart.

Today comes word from Deadline that a deal is done and its definitely not your standard deal by any stretch of the imagination. Ron Howard now has the rights and will be producing 3 feature films based on Stephen Kings novel of a gunslinger out to find The Dark Tower and save humanity.

The twist is that the first film will play, then a TV Series will run on NBC for 1 season leading to the second movie, a second season of the TV show a third movie and then a final closing season.

This is certainly an interesting concept and will enable them to include the content of the books which is no easy task and in the same token it has potential for NBC and Universal who have the rights to make some serious cash.
