Fright Night Remake - Official Synopsis Inside

Craig Gillespie's remake of Fright Night shot in 3D has already finished shooting and thanks to the guys over at Bloody-Disgusting we have our hands on the official synopsis for the remake, which you can check out below.

The Fright Night remake stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Imogen Poots.

You all probably know my love for the original 1985 version by now, it's just awesome but apart from the perfect blend of horror & comedy and the amazing prosthetic effects and the performances every put on, there is one more thing that made the original that much better and that was the music.

Brad Fiedel done absolutely amazing things with the score and has me wondering who is doing the score this time around? How sexual was Brad Fiedel's "Come to me"? I say "It's possibly the most sexy piece of music I have ever heard".

Synopsis: "Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic."

How does the official synopsis sound? Do you think this remake could work? Are you a fan of the original?

Fright Night remake arrives in theatres on August 19, 2011.
