UPDATE: Fright Night Remake Chris Sarandon Cameo?

Chris Sarandon (Pictured Right) who played the character Jerry Dandridge in the original 1985 film Fright Night is set to return for a cameo in the remake of Fright Night according to FearNet. In the remake Colin Farrell is now playing the part of the Jerry Dandridge character so it will be interesting to see what part Sarandon plays.

Chris Sarandon played that part so well, he has such an elegance and seductiveness about him, it will be interesting to see how Colin Farrell does. I have to admit I've probably only seen maybe one or two Colin Farrell films so it's hard to predict how he will do. But the inclusion of Sarandon in the remake has just made my day!

The Fright Night remake is directed by Craig Gillespie and stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Imogen Poots.

Synopsis: "Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic."

What do you guys think?

Fright Night remake arrives in theatres on August 19, 2011.
