Mark Wahlberg Offered lead Role in The Crow?

Deth_Banger

Well this just came out of no where, B-D has confirmed exclusively that Mark Wahlberg has been offered the lead role in Nick Cave's remake of the 1994 film of the same name The Crow.

Nick Cave has currently been working on a re-write of the script and Stephen Norrington is attached to direct the film. In the original 1994 film, Brandon Lee played the role of Eric Draven who was brutally murdered who comes back to life as an undead avenger.

The remake is said to take place in Detroit and producer Edward R. Pressman has promised "a very different visual idea for the new film". Also The Crow's sidekick/guide will also be undergoing some changes by beefing it up. So instead of adding that touch of atmosphere and mystery with the bird, we are going to have a more on screen beefcake bird? This is just planned changes and not confirmed yet.

I have nothing against Mark Wahlberg, in fact I haven't really seen any of his films, either just by not being interested and not having the time. It just seems like a strange casting choice, he doesn't exactly jump out at you as being an undead avenger. Time will tell if he accepts the offer and we will keep you updated.

What do you guys think? Can you see Mark Wahlberg in The Crow? Who would you have as the lead?
