Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' set for Feature Film?

Whether you like Michael Jackson or not you can't deny that his music video 'Thriller' was freaking bad-ass! Not only did it feature zombies and a werewolf it also had Vincent Price do a voice over and  it was made by John Landis. Oh yeah the song was pretty good too.

According to the guys over at Deadline "GK Films is in active negotiations to acquire a package for a film that is being fashioned around his groundbreaking hit song Thriller. The film, which has been quietly shopped over the past several weeks by Real Effects Entertainment, has Kenny Ortega attached to direct, and The Hangover scribe Jeremy Garelick to write the screenplay. While GK is in the driver's seat, I'm told that Fox 2000, Mandate/Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment are all in the mix on what will shape up as a pricey rights deal, but which will turn out to be a film budgeted at under $50 million."

As for the plot, they are keeping it under wraps at the moment, but their is a rumor going around that it is to do with the song's folklore which involves Vincent Price and the town he grew up in.

I'm interested in knowing if they will take inspiration from just the song 'Thriller' or the whole album, just had me thinking if they would involve many aspects.

So what do you guys think? Do you think this could work? Do you hate the idea?
