Psychological UK Horror 'Ellie Rose'

I have for you here a little psychological horror film from the UK titled Ellie Rose (aka Not Alone) which has me hooked already. The film takes place in 1957 in the East Coast of America, where an emotionally unstable Ellie Rose returns alone to her unused family cabin which still holds dark secrets of the past that haunts her mind and soon transforms into reality.

I say this looks and sounds great, and thankfully the trailer (which you can view below) has a nice dollop of gore which is always a good thing.

Ellie Rose is written & directed by Tristan Versluis (his directorial debut in which he provided special make-up effects for films such as Hot Fuzz, Cradle of Fear & Psychosis to name a few) the film is co-written by Tim Major and Andy Thompson and stars Lucy Benjamin, Bill Ward, Alexandra Moen & Kika Mirylees.

Synopsis: "Torn by years in an abusive marriage, an emotional Ellie Rose arrives alone at the family cabin along the broken coastline. Her story and motives for being there are unclear. Arriving unprepared and packed with few supplies she seems anxious at either leaving or someone else arriving.

The cabin unused for years, still holds memories providing us with hints of a shattered family. Plagued by her childhood and nightmares of her murdered family; Ellie anxiously prepares for an unwelcome visitor.

Before long her nightmares turn real and those horrors that stalk her mind transform into the reality of everyday life. Imprisoned by her own actions and haunted by the ghosts of her past, Ellie soon starts to spiral out of control. The waiting is over...Ellie finally confronts her fears, her family and the truth."
