Director Talks Silent Hill 2

Now movement seems to be going on the long rumored sequel to Christophe Gan's stylish, though story a bit strange storyline adaptation of Konami's Silent Hill game seems to be finally moving.  British director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch) has signed onto write and direct the picture which is being produced by Don Carmody and Samuel Hadida.

Bassett spoke with Empire a bit about the film, which is now entitled Silent Hill: Revelations 3D.

"I spent a long time revisiting the games and reading just about every little piece of material I could find on the mythology.  Of course, my choices may not please everyone, but the ambition is to give the audience a twisted, intense and terrifying experience..."

I really enjoyed Deathwatch; its a film I went into with okay expectations (the US artwork make it seem like a cheap DTV film) and was blown away by it.  Haven't seen Solomon Kane yet, but have good expectations for that film.  No word yet if Silent Hill will shoot in 3D or will be converted.  But as Carmody and Hadida produced Resident Evil: Afterlife, I hope it'll be filmed with 3D cameras.  Silent Hill Revelations 3D is due out in 2011
