Dino De Laurentiis Co. Goes into 'Maximum Overdrive'

Well there isn't much to go on but according to Variety the Dino De Laurentiis Co. has a few projects in various stages of production, this morning we gave you guys the news that they are developing a reboot of Firestarter, and know they are planning to remake another Stephen King adaptation, this time being the 1986 film Maximum Overdrive which was directed by King himself.

There is no news as to where the project is as I'm guessing its in the early stages of development, but what do you guys think, do you welcome a remake of Maximum Overdrive, has the original stood the test of time? Or could advanced technology enhance the remake?

I actually loved Maximum Overdrive, I mean AC/DC released their "Who Made Who" album as the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack, and they had the Green Goblin on the front of a truck, and a guy gets his face maimed by the grill of a truck...Awesome!

The idea behind Maximum Overdrive is more relevant know than ever I think, not due to the aliens but because of the technology, as technology is so more advanced now and we depend on it so much from GPS to Ipods to Broadband as much as I love the original I actually welcome a remake, but I bet I will eat my words if it turns out rubbish! :D

What do you guys think?
