The Village DVD Review
At first glance, this village seems picture perfect, but this close-knit community lives with the frightening knowledge that creatures reside in the surrounding woods. The evil and foreboding force is so unnerving that none dare venture beyond the borders of the village and into the woods. But when curious, headstrong Lucius Hunt plans to step beyond the boundaries of the town and into the unknown, his bold move threatens to forever change the future of the village.
Now you have the gist, but just get ready to be twisted and turned inside out. M. Night always had a nack for movies that are not what they appear and this one is no exception. The movie is not at all what you would think it is, in fact I was so surprised as to what this movie was and was not. I am not going to tell you anything or spoil anything. All I can say is wow.
The cast in this movie was stellar. The acting was superb and the choice of cast was through the roof. You get into this movie right from the start, and although it is a bit slow starting up once you get into it there is no looking away. The movie carries well throughout.
One thing that really surprised me was the ending of this film. I have never liked how M.Night ends his films, and in this film I did. The ending was fluid and also quite entertaining. I have to say that out of all of his films this is now my favorite. It twists, it turns, it has a great cast, and a great story. I give this movie a 9/10. If you liked the Sixth Sense you will love this movie.
