Paramount has just announced that Brad Anderson is set to helm "The Crazies" remake. Scott Kosar who recently penned the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Amityville Horror" remakes will also lend his skills to "The Crazies. Penn Station principals Michael Aguilar and Dean Georgaris are producing and Romero, who directed and co-wrote the original pic with Paul McCollough, is exec producing.

"The Crazies" will update the storyline of the original, in which inhabitants of a small Pennsylvania town are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Original was released in 1972.
