Sony Pictures likes "Grudge 2" and "Scarecrow"Goon
Sony Pictures Entertainment have signed a deal with Sam Raimis Ghost House Pictures to distribute "The Grudge 2" and "Scarecrow". Sony was pretty impressed with the numbers that "The Grudge" and "Boogeyman" put up in the box office so they felt it was safe to pick up the next two projects.
"The Grudge 2" will be once again helmed by Takashi Shimizu. Nothing has been revealed about whether or not Sarah Michelle Gellar will be back again. I doubt she will appear unless Shimizu does some flashback sequences which he does do alot. Writer Stephen Susco, producers Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Taka Ichise; and executive producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison will also return.
The Pang brothers will be directing their first english language debut film with "Scarecrow". A horror tale that follows the lives of a family moving into a run-down sunflower farm. As the farm begins to revive after years of disrepair, the family begins to notice uncomfortable and alarming changes in their father's behavior. The film is set to begin shooting in Spring.
