Carpenter speaks on The Fog
The next remake to come out of Hollywood is going to be John Carpenters classic "The Fog". Recently Comingsoon.net spoke with Carpenter about the film and how it was all going. I'm sure alot of people wonder why he decided to remake this film, well his answer follows:
Why not? If everybody else is making remakes and they want to pay me money to make a remake of an old movie of mine why not? It's a good idea. Seriously that's part of the answer, but my ex-partner, Debra Hill, who just recently died, had been trying to get this off the ground. We hooked up with David [Foster] here who did finally get it off the ground and it was kind of nice for her to see this being made.
He also answered a question pertaining to the PG-13. Now the answer he gave to this question has really dampered my anticipation for this movie. I'm sure it will for many of you as well.
It's designed to be a PG-13 film. Horror has really changed a lot. It used to be a lot much more hard core. Today it's drifting towards PG-13 and you know getting girls in and girls don't like yucky stuff, you know what I mean.
Girls don't like yucky stuff? So we are all being forced to see a PG-13 rating because they want to make sure they can get little girls to go see this movie? I don't know about the rest of you but this sounds like we are getting ripped off.. Well maybe somebody will slap them upside the head and this movie will be rockin. So far they are scheduling an October 14th release.
