The Last Ten: June 17 2005

Below are the last ten horror films that have been added to the "Horror Movie Tomb."
The Dark Room - This is the tale of a nameless amnesiac man who has spent over a decade in a mental institution in hopes of remembering anything about his past. When he is subjected to an experimental drug that fails to help, he suffers a violent hallucination and makes his escape during an altercation between guards and another patient.

Arriving in the city, he befriends Stanley, a nerdy 15-year-old boy, who lives with his alcoholic mother and his stepfather Bob, while suffering from horrific visions of a terrible creature committing brutal acts on those around him. Realizing that all is not right with his stepdad, who disappears almost every night, Stanley enlists the man’s help to investigate Bob’s hidden secrets, leading them to his locked darkroom inside their home—which may not only hold the clue to Stanley’s questions about his father, but the man’s identity as well.

Ghost of Mae Nak - Mak and Nak, a young newlywed couple in Bangkok, acquire an antique brooch and an old abandoned house that soon bring them into contact with Mae Nak Phrakhanong, a figure of horror and despair from one of Thailand's most enduring ghost legends.

While Mae Nak's ghost protects the couple from an unscrupulous real estate agent as well as a pair of burglars, it becomes apparent that she expects a terrible favor in return.

Mak, the young groom, is incapacitated by a powerful coma, and his bride Nak must exhume Mae Nak's corpse from its hidden grave so that the skull can be restored using the antique brooch. Only in this way can Mae Nak's spirit finally be set free..

Crossbones Contestants in a reality show run afoul of a bloodthirsty resurrected pirate.

The Voice Inside We all have one... It resides safely within the confines of our minds. It offers guidance in times of need. It only wants to protect us from ourselves... but we ignore it, suppress it, banish it from our thoughts. Well our time of willful disobedience is at an end. There will be only one voice now... You will listen to the voice... You will obey the voice... You will never suppress the voice again. (This is a short film)

Resident Evil: Afterlife - "Afterlife" will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with mutant zombies. The film will play in the Nevada desert with the Aussie outback standing in for the American wasteland. In the final reel, the action will shift to Japan, setting up the fourth installment.

Death4Told Four horror stories occur in sequence connected by time and space. The first deals with a writer and his wife who move into a large house only to find it is already occupied. The second follows three college couples on a weekend camping trip where tall tales and legends are more real than fiction. The third segment follows a TV crew as they prepare for the taping of their hit show, "World's Most Haunted Places". The final story is about a hack psychic who discovers that practice really does make perfect.

The Killer Must Kill Again A rich womanizer plans to murder his wife. He blackmails a man into doing the evil deed for him. The car with the murdered woman’s corpse is stolen by a pair of joyriders. The vicious killer sets off in pursuit - with more than just murder on his mind this time.

Ms. 45 - A young, voluptuous New York City woman is intensely shy and unable to speak. Her naive beauty provokes the aggressive attention of all men. One evening while walking home, she is assaulted at gunpoint and brutally raped by two thugs. Her enormous fears, which had driven her inward before, now push her to an outward course of action.

After killing one of her assailants, she cuts his body into pieces and disposes of the parts, one by one, at various spots in Manhattan. She carries her dead assailant's .45 automatic, initially for protection, but ultimately for unrelenting revenge against all males. Men, keep your legs crossed for this frightfully erotic thriller that delves into the life of a nubile young maiden out for blood.

Hell A group of people are involved in a car wreck. They pass out and when they wake up, they are in Buddhist hell. Buddhist hell has many levels, so the film depicts the characters going through these levels of hell.

Graveyard Shift (1990) -  Stephen King took you to the edge with The Shining and Pet Sematary. This time... he pushes you over. From horror master Stephen King comes his most terror-filled take yet. Gates Falls, Maine. When an abandoned textile mill is reopened, several employees meet mysterious deaths. The link between the killings: all occurred between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. - the Graveyard Shift.

The sadistic mill foreman (Stephen Macht) has chosen a group to clean up the mill's rat-infested basement. But what the workers find is a subterranean maze of tunnels leading to the cemetery - and an unimaginable horror that comes alive in the dead of the night.
