Aftermath DVD Banned in the USA!

According to Fangoria, Unearthed Films has announced that all major DVD retailers won't touch the upcoming release of Nacho Cerda's "Aftermath". I first heard of this film in the recent issue of Rue Morgue and have been looking forward to the release. Here is what company topper Stephen Biro had to say regarding the release.

“Best Buy won’t touch it. Suncoast won’t allow it in their stores, and every retailer so far refuses to carry it after viewing screeners and reading the IMDb listing. It sounds like the only retailers that will sell it are on-line retailers. I myself am a little upset about this turn of events, especially since we were able to get the GUINEA PIG Box Set into Best Buy.

“I also don’t think we will be able to get them into Canada as well, he continues, “since they have to go through a ratings board and there is no way that anyone is going to give a seal of approval on AFTERMATH. I’m sure everyone in Canada will be able to order these through the mail like everyone else but so far, retailers and distributors have been a little hostile towards us over this DVD.

This is especially ironic because as he mentioned they got the Guinea Pig DVDs in at Best Buy. Now I've seen those and they are very brutal so I can't even begin to imagine what this little DVD will contain. Now don't fret to much because you will still be able to pick these up online. So be sure to get your pre-orders in before it is released on August 23rd.
