Creator of Ringu wants to Script Ring 3

The Suicide Girls recently scored an interview with the creator of countless popular Japanese novels including Ringu, Dark Water, Spiral and Loop, Koji Suzki. He is by far one of the most popular authors in Japan and his novels have inspired several film adpatations. In his interview he was asked about writing screenplays:

"If Ring 3 was to be made in the US I would love to write the screenplay for that. Ring Two diverged from the original story but since Spiral is the real sequel I would want it to have elements of that in it. I would like a movie sequel that’s not just a repetition of previous works. I would love to show that a movie sequel could actually be a very good movie."

Well we can only hope that he will be given the shot to write the screenplay for Ring 3. I would really like to see him write more scripts for Hollywood as well. We need more original films instead of rehashing films from years past.
