Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things is Headed to the Screen

Ted Naifeh's comic book Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things has been picked up by Fox 2000 and New Regency. The comic will be adapted by Graham Tallman.

According to Variety, the film follows the story of a young girl who moves into her eccentric uncle's house, where she's thrown into a world of warlocks, witchcraft and goblins. Meanwhile, she must solve the mystery of why all her classmates are disappearing.

Did I mention that the FX master Stan Winston has his hand in this project as well? Right now they only have him down as a producer but I can bet top dollar he will also be doing effects for the film. I'm not to sure how "horror" this is going to come out because it sounds kind of like Harry Potter. But maybe they can put a more dark edge to this movie.
