Head Into Basset's Wilderness

Michael J. Basset is following up on his previous film Deathwatch with Wilderness. Wilderness follows a group of young offenders as they are delivered to an island for a week of character building exercises after one of their fellow inmates commits suicide.. It all goes horribly wrong when they realise that there's someone else on the island who has a pack of dogs and a crossbow with which to hunt them down.

Sounds like a fun ride and something that Basset says is "like a combination of 'Scum', 'Battle Royale' and, 'Deliverance' with a little 'Lord of the Flies' thrown in for good measure." That sounds like a deadly combination of movies if you ask me.

Basset's website has been updated with a whack of new stills. He also has a nice looking trailer for the film that you can view here. Right now the film is expected to be released in the UK in August, 2006. I'll keep an eye out for anymore developments for Wilderness.
