Zombies is now Hooper-lessGoon
I can remember not to far back when Tobe Hoopers Zombies was announced. I thought it was a fantastic idea. Get Tobe Hooper back with his scribes, Adam Gierasch and Jace Anderson, and throw in some zombies for good measure. Thats pure gold!
Well unforunately I got some bad news. It looks like the film is now being helmed by J.S. Cardone. Not only that, but to throw salt in the wound they even scrapped Gierasch and Anderson's script. It looks like Millennium/Nu Image is going a completely new direction with the film.
Fangoria pointed out that IMDB has updated the project with a little synopsis.
Recently widowed Karen Tunny and her two daughters, Sarah and Emma, move to a remote mountain home which Karen has inherited from the family of her late husband. However, she is unaware that the home is situated near an old mine, the site of an early 20th century tragedy in which many children were buried alive...
No one knows why Tobe Hooper and his comeback scribes were dropped from the picture. My guess is that Hooper got busy with alot that he had and dropped the project. That still doesn't explain what happened with Gierasch and Anderson though. I'll keep my eye out if anything else transpires.
