Would You Visit Silent Hill?

If you had the chance would you visit Silent Hill? Well, if you live near or are willing to travel you might have the chance. Apparently there is a little town in Pennsylvania called Centralia. If that name sounds familiar thats because for awhile there was a rumour circulating that was going to be part of the title to Silent Hill.

In 1981 there were as many as 1,000 people living in Centralia. That number has now dwindled down to 11 people. The cause of this drastic drop was an underground coal fire that started in 1962 that was never extinguished. It was kept alive by the coal. Despite millions of dollars spent to put out the fire nothing worked. This is not to much unlike the town of Silent Hill who were ravaged by coal fires.

The fire is still burning today and some students made a documentary about the town that you can watch here. I'm not sure if this is some kind of marketing ploy or if this is a real place.. Regardless their is website you can check out that has a bunch of pictures up and more information here.

Remember next Friday, April 21st Silent Hill will be hitting theatres.
