Rumour Control: Patricia Clarkson is the Next Voorhees?

Another rumour is circulating the net right now that Patricia Clarkson will be playing the role of Pamela Voorhees in the re-imagining of "Friday the 13th". Apparently the rumour was circulated by an article on E! Online which I can't seem to find. Maybe thats why it is still a rumour.

Today BD got a hold of New Line and they commented on the situation. "If that were the case I would consider myself a very lucky producer. Nonetheless, there is NO truth to that rumor at all. In fact we haven't even starting speaking about casting yet."

In the original Betsy Palmer played the lead role to a T and has always been known by horror fans for that role. Whats particularly funny about that is that Palmer has done several films before and after that role of much higher caliber but she could never escape the role of Ms Voorhees in every horror fans eyes.
