Derrickson Battling with Satan Once Again

Last year Scott Derrickson brought forth the fear of Satanic possession once again with "Exorcism of Emily Rose". Now he is going to revisit the beast once again with a live-action film of one of English literature's watershed works, John Milton's Paradise Lost, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Legendary Pictures will be developing the project based on a optioned script by Byron Willinger and Phil DeBlasi, which will be developed by Derrickson. Currently Stuart Hazeldine is doing some additional touch ups on the script.

Paradise Lost was written in 1667, Milton's epic poem revolves around the fall of man and the classic battle of good vs. evil, telling along the way the story of Satan/Lucifer, the angel who tries to overthrow God, and the temptation of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
