Get Ready For a Dark RideGoon
Twitch dug up this movie out of nowhere and something about it caught my eye. Immediately upon watching the trailer and reading the synopsis I knew this movie would either be in my DVD collection or I would be in theaters to check it out.
Craig Singer has already secured rights for his film in the U.S. with Lionsgate and will be showing the film at Cannes for international rights. Here is a short synopsis of what you can expect.
Nearly a decade after two young girls are brutally murdered, the monstrous killer, Jonah, escapes from a mental institution and returns to his familiar killing ground, the theme park attraction 'Dark Ride'. His unfortunate victims this time are a group of college kids on a road trip that inevitably leads them to the Dark Ride, where their night of youthful fun becomes a nightmare. The killer, who is mimicking the sets within the attraction, makes sure this is a 'ride' audiences will never forget.
Now with Lionsgate having the rights to the U.S. I think I can safely say that this film will end up being a straight to DVD release. Lionsgate usually only gives movies with very high production values theatrical runs and even than sometimes the movies still get a direct to DVD release.
You can check out the trailer here. Also for those of you who might think this sounds like a PG-13 horror flick, its been rated R for "strong grisly horror violence and gore, sexuality, nudity, language and some drug content."
