New Indie Flick: Bryan Loves You

The other day I received an e-mail from the folks behind Bryan Loves You. When I found out this was a low budget film I was very surprised because the cast is amazing for an indie film.

Bryan Loves You stars George Wendt (Cheers, King of the Ants), Daniel Roebuck (The Devil's Rejects), rising scream queen Tiffany Shepis (Abominable) and featuring Troma Entertainment co-founder and president Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger), and B-movie faves Brinke Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre) and Jeff Dylan Graham (October Moon). With a cameo by Chuck Williams, best known for his roles as part of Elvis' crew in Bubba Ho-tep and Tommy Marcetto in Soultaker.

Now that is what I call a cast. Seth Landau will be the madman who will have to get together all these actors and direct all the insanity that is bound to ensue. The crew from the film sent me a nice little bit about what you can expect from the film.

""Bryan Loves You" is going to be shot in a "recovered footage"-narrative hybrid style. For a horror movie, it really hasn't been done before. Or at least, not like we're going to do. It's based on the true story of the downfall of an AZ town (name withheld for now). In "Bryan", the central character, JONATHAN, is a therapist who moved to AZ from NY. After awhile, he notices some things that are kind of weird (people talking to themselves, wearing these masks that can be seen here, and other stuff). So he and a couple friends start to investigate by recording people and events around town. Once they do that: it's all over. The friends are shredded. Jonathan is committed to a mental hospital and has to navigate a maze of hostility, needles, psyche drugs, "take downs", etc. to survive and/or get out of the mental ward and the town."

It sounds like they have a great thing going. George Wendt is a great character and he makes a brutal villian in King of the Ants. I have never seen anything from Seth Landau but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the horror genre. So you keep it here and we will be getting plenty more on this movie.
