The Girl Next Door Forging AheadGoon
Jack Ketchum's most brutal novel to date The Girl Next Door has been in development hell for quite some time. Well now thanks to Headspace director Andrew van den Houten the film is now on track and even has a larger budget so they can keep it a period piece.
Gregory Wilson is being set up as the director from a script written by Dan Farrands and Phil Nutman. The cast will be made up of Mae Whitman who will be playing the role of the deprived Meg. Also appearing in the film will be Blanche Baker who will be playing the disturbed Aunt Ruth according to Fangoria.
For those of you who haven't read the novel basically the story is about a woman who enlists her own children to torture a helpless girl she is hiding in her basement. If they keep to the original novel this could be a very brutal film. Keep it here for more info on this film as we hear it.
