Melissa George Joins 30 Days of Night

Awhile back we heard that Josh Hartnett was going to jump on board to play Sheriff Eben Olemaun. Today it has been revealed by Melissa George's Official Fan site that she will be playing the role of Deputy Stella Olemaun. As you may of guessed, yes she is married to the character that Hartnett is playing.

Melissa George is probably perfect for the role. She did a pretty good job in Amittyville Horror Remake granted some of it was over the top but nonetheless she has a pretty good resume. So I think the movie is moving along well so far some not so bad casting and with David Slade at the helm this should be a blast.

30 Days of Night is actually based off of a graphic novel by Steve Niles and is being adapted into a screenplay by Stuart Beattie and Brian Nelson. The story is set in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost town in the U.S., where the sun does not appear for more than 30 days during the dead of winter. An evil force emerges from the darkness, striking terror in the town. The local sheriffs -- a husband (Hartnett)-and-wife (George) team -- are forced to choose between saving themselves and helping the town survive until daylight returns.
