1408 Casting Change - no Kate Walsh

Dan Strohschein

Stephen King, My Idol (read as: guy I look up to so much it borders on stalking) has written another film, 1408, with a pretty star studded cast. It's another story of a haunted hotel, (which makes me wonder if my idol is running out of ideas). Variety reports that Kate Walsh (Grey's Anatomy) had to bail because she couldn't film "Grey's Anatomy" and 1408 at the same time, so Mary McCormack on board. The casting is now complete, and they are aiming at a spring of 2007 release (May, or thereabouts).

The story was originally published as a short story in which a debunker of paranormal occurrences encounters real terror when he checks into notorious Room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel. Filming will begin in July somewhere in the UK.
