George A. Romero Hospitalized?

Land of the Dead George Romero has cancelled his upcoming appearences for the Eerie Horror Film Festival and Rock & Shock. The Rock & Shock website even has an official announcement from Romeros manager Chris Roe:

"It is with great saddness and regret that I must inform you that Mr. Romero will be unable to attend Rock and Shock this year. Due to unforseen medical reasons, which are not life threatening, Mr Romero has been given doctors orders not to travel for the next few weeks. He regrets not being there to meet with his fans, but he simply can not attend at this time. He does however hope that he will be invited back for future events."

Word has traveled that Romero collapsed and was hospitalized. But thankfully it doesn't sound like anything to serious according to Romeros manager. We here at Horror-Movies.ca wish Romero a speedy recovery.
