Cobalt 60 Headed to the Silver Screen

Cult comic book Cobalt 60 has just been picked up by Universal to be turned into a major motion picture. Uni has also attached Zack Snyder to direct. The comic was created in 1968 by underground artist Vaughn Bode. But in the 80s his son, Mark, picked up the story and ran with it.

Zack Snyder will make the perfect director for the subject matter at hand. First he brought us the better than expected Dawn of the Dead remake. He is currently showing us a great deal of amazing things from his upcoming Frank Miller project 300 and is now working diligently on Watchmen.

Taking place in a postapocalyptic world inhabited by mutants and fantastical creatures, the story follows the masked hero Cobalt 60, who embarks on a quest to avenge his parents, who were murdered by the evil Strontium 90. They are currently looking for a writer to jump on board.
