Sigaw The Echo Remake is Moving
I was given an opportunity to watch Yam Laranas' Sigaw and I thought it was definetly something that Asian filmmaking needed. Something fresh rather than the average little girl with hair in her face. I have known about the remake for quite sometime so this is just a confirmation of the news.
Vertigo Entertainment has bought the rights to Sigaw whose English translation is The Echo. They have also managed to get Yam Laranas to jump on board and direct the film as well. Recently that hasn't helped some films but hopefully Laranas can pull it off.
Eric Bernt will adapt the script from the story of a young ex-con who moves into an old apartment building, only to learn his neighbor is an abusive police officer who savagely beats his wife and daughter. When the ex-con tries to intervene, he becomes trapped in a curse. Veritgo is putting the movie on the fast track and hope to get things moving by setting a March 19th start date.
