Sega to Create Alien Video GamesGoon
Sega has just signed a deal to take the Alien franchise from the silver screen to the next generation consoles. Most of you will probably know Sega for its Sonic the Hedgehog games but personally I was always a fan of its Virtua Fighter line. The games they will be creating are going to be set in the Alien universe.
To be exact the games announced so far are a first-person shooter and a role-playing game, with the first product to ship in 2008. The good thing is that Sega is currently in talks with several actors from the films including Sigourney Weaver and Lance Henriksen to lend their likeness and voices to the titles.
The titles will not follow the movies to the T though. Instead you will be able to go on your own missions. Mike Gallo explains, "We'll go out of our way to tie the games into the films in unique ways," he said. "We're also looking at all 'Alien' source material for inspiration, in addition to the films. We may incorporate some characters that fans know and love, and we may let gamers find answers to questions that were left unanswered in the movies."
