Pan's Laybrinth DVD Details

Director Guillermo del Toro's Pan's Laybrinth has garnered praise from nearly every reviewer and numerous major awards and nomination as well as the nomination for the Golden Palm at Cannes. Del Toro netted himself an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Laybrinth has also nailed Best Art Direction, Cinematography, Makeup, Original Score & Best Forgien Language Film. Lets all root for them and hope they nail every nomination.

And now the time comes for those unlucky enough to miss it while it was in theaters, even after it got spread out from LA, NYC and about two other theaters in the USA, now can finally see it. I caught it last week, hands down the best film of 2006 and Del Toro's best thus far.

Fangoria recieved word from New Line Home Entertainmet that Laybrinth will join their Platnium Series on May 15 on a two disc set. And Platnium = Great Goodies aka, Lord of the Rings. The film will be presented in an anamorphic widescreen DTS-ES 6.1, Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and 2.0 Surround audio tracks. The film will also be in Spanish with English subtitles, so yes that means reading for the lazy bums out there.
