Win Copies of 28 Days Later The Aftermath
Posted By : Goon, Thursday Apr,19
Filed Under : Horror Sequels & Remakes, Zombie,

Today do we have a contest for you or what. We just got our hands on some brand new, hot off the presses 28 Days Later: The Aftermath graphic novels. And guess what? We are crazy enough to give them away. So if you are looking to get your little paws on a copy all you have to do is send us your name, address and your forum name if you have one and we will pick some winners. Make sure you put "28 Days Later Aftermath Contest" in the title as well. Just send us all that information and you are good to go.

Illustrated by a team of top-tier comic book artists-- Dennis Calero, Diego Olmos, and Nat Jones --- and with a chilling cover by celebrated artist Tim Bradstreet, 28 DAYS LATER: The Aftermath weaves together four connected stories, each one devoted to a stage of the catastrophic Rage Virus afflicting the 28 Days world.  Shedding light on the birth of the lethal Rage Virus epidemic, its frightening spread, the fate of the desperate few taking action and the shadowy forces trying to restore order, 28 DAYS LATER: The Aftermath is full of fresh text and knockout visuals.

In “Stage 1: Development,” two Cambridge research scientists, Clive and Warren, are attempting to perfect an inhibitor to regulate anger-control issues. But when their test on a human subject backfires with fatal consequences, Warren comes up with a more aggressive approach. Using the Ebola virus as a delivery system, they begin to expose apes to this potent concoction. After weeks of testing the inhibitor mutates unexpectedly, creating a virus that creates pure rage instead of an antidote…

As “Stage 2: Outbreak”begins one day later, a young boy, Liam, is savagely mauled by the blood-spewing ape in a Cambridge park, one of the first victims of the rapidly spreading Rage Virus. An ambulance rushes him to the hospital as his parents, brother Sid and sister Sophie follow. At the hospital the now-Infected Liam assaults the medics, then turns on his family, all of whom just barely manage to get away.  Days later in London, a state of emergency is declared as the growing hordes of Infectedcontinue their killing spree, and civil unrest ensues.  Making a run for freedom and braving the chaotic streets, Sid and Sophie are forced to jump into the Thames River while the rampaging mob corners their parents…

By “Stage 3: Decimation,” London is a ghost town. A lone renegade, Hugh Baker, vows to track down and slay every last one of those ‘bleeding bastards’, the Infected.  However, Hugh is not alone - after warding off a hail of gunfire from another survivor, Hugh plots revenge. He’s discovered that the Infected are enticed by the smell of human flesh -- explaining why they never go after each other -- so he douses the assailant’s jeep with a concoction of human scents and watches as the man is quickly swarmed by attackers. Having successfully baited the Infected, Hugh then destroys all of them with a well-placed shot to the Jeep’s gas tank.  Satisifed that he successfully protected ‘his city’, Hugh’s hopes are quickly dashed when three military jets of unknown origin sweep overhead…)

Set 38 to 42 days later, “Stage 4: Quarantine” opens with a wounded man waking up in a hospital bed.  The patient, Clive, is one of the people responsible for the entire epidemic, and Sophie, who lost her parents to the Rage virus, is nursing him. Outside, recent arrival Hugh is manhandled and caged by hooded guards. Sid tells Hugh he thinks they are being quarantined in a safe place, but none of the armed men will confirm that this is true.  Just who are these mysterious figures and what do they want with their ‘prisoners’? The four captives agree they must flee, but only Clive and Sophie succeed.  After their escape, Clive reveals a dark secret about the evolving Rage Virus as well as his role in the devastation, the shock of which forces Sophie to seek deadly revenge. Is the end of the nightmare in sight or is this merely the beginning of the next dark chapter? A jolting adrenaline rush from start to finish, 28 DAYS LATER: The Aftermath is the perfect prescription for rabid fans of the movie as well as graphic novels everywhere!
