Tomaselli to Direct Alice, Sweet Alice
This isn't the first time we have seen Dante Tomaselli's name thrown into the remake arena. As a matter of fact just last year his name was floating around that he might possibly direct the Halloween remake. But that never happened. Now in a recent interview with UHMN.com it looks like he will be helming the Alfred Sole's 1976 slasher/giallo Alice, Sweet Alice.
“Alice, Sweet Alice is a film that is really about evil passed on from generation to generation, so [Alfred Sole] thinks it makes sense for me to remake it, a kind of passing on of the torch...or the knife,” laughs Tomaselli.
The rest of the interview just goes into great detail about Tomaselli and his love for the film. Alfred Sole is also included with little snippets about why he chose Tomaselli and other things. Tomaselli only mentioned one thing about casting and that was that he wants Brooke Shields to make a return just for a brief cameo.
The original begins when ten-year-old Karen (Brooke Shields) is killed in church on the occasion of her first communion, her seemingly innocent older sister Alice (Paula Sheppard) becomes the prime suspect. Matters become complicated as more of Alice's family members are attacked, along with residents of her apartment building. So who is behind all the killings? Its a shocker that you really got to see.
