Warner Picks Up Skulduggery PleasantGoon
Warner Bros. Pictures has just acquired the rights to Derek Landy's debut novel "Skulduggery Pleasant". They have also snapped up the rights to the following novels in the planned series of nine books. The book is aimed at a younger audience but apparently it is a hot ticket as Warner beat out several other studios in a bidding war.
The book is set in contemporary Dublin where a wise-cracking skeleton detective and his young female accomplice try to stop the return of the evil Faceless Ones. Derek Landy will be adapting his own books for the big screen with no director attached yet. Landy is no new comer to the horror genre either. He was behind two Irish horror films Boy Eats Girl and Dead Bodies.
