Comedy Central Wants In on Zombie TV

Something fantastic has been happening lately for the small screen. A couple weeks ago it was discovered that CBS is busy developing Babylon Fields, a zombie TV show. Just yesterday we learned that Cartoon Network wanted in on the craze as well with SIFF, about a demonic detective with a curse. Now Comedy Central wants to take a bite out of the competition.

Former Simpsons scribe/co-producer Dana Gould has just pitched "The Last Larry" to Comedy Central and will begin working on a script very soon. "Larry" is a Zom Com in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead. The show will be set in a post apocalyptic world where people are trying to get on with their lives. Basically sounds like they will be picking up where Shaun left off.

"It's a very traditional sitcom set in the world of a zombie holocaust," Gould said. "I felt fairly positive after I pitched it that I wouldn't hear a lot of 'Not that idea again.' " But don't worry folks he knows not to step on Edgar Wrights toes, hes not looking "to do a carbon copy of what someone else already did."
